What snowboard? Pt. 2?
I recently asked what snowboard I should buy.

After looking at my options from what people advised me to get I have decided to invest in a Lib Tech Skunk Ape 157 BTX. I have a few questions though. Firstly, Is this a good choice? I have read a lot of online reviews which rate it highly, but I respect more of a personal opinion. Is there a better type of board for the price? The cheapest I have found is £400. Does anyone know a place I can get it cheaper?
Another slightly unrelated thing is the issue of wax. Is there a certain brand which is outstanding and makes a lot of difference compared to other brands? Or is all wax roughly the same, and make no difference for an average rider?
I stand 184cm (6'1"), weigh 10st 3lbs (143lbs/ 64kg) and have size 12UK boot (12.5 US/ 47 EU) so I will need a wide board.
The Skunk Ape is a sweet board. Really good for going fast and having a great time.
I live in the US where prices for snowboards are considerably lower, so I'm not sure what your best option price wise would be in the UK.
Pretty much all wax is pretty similar brand wise. The most important thing is having the right wax for the conditions. Cold temp specific wax isn't going to be appropriate on a spring day, or warm temp wax on a sub zero day isn't going to be effective. With that being said I usually buy from either magical go-go or bluebird wax. Both have really solid teams, and the go-go is soy based so its better for the environment.
